When asked how he would describe his music, Darrell Goldman says, “Others have called it “polished”. I would say thoughtful.” And, of course, Country. Thoughtful fits his whole approach to life and music: “It’s taken time to figure out who I want to be as an artist. I’ve written for a long time and tried many styles. Country is where my heart is.” Asked what his autobiography would be entitled Darrell pauses to reflect, “Endurance,” he says, “because my life has definitely been an endurance race, not a sprint.” With nearly 200 shows a year, marriage and kids, “It takes a lot to keep it together,” he says, “like constant training for a triathlon.”
Darrell’s full life and complex thinking are reflected in many of his songs. The polished Country he mentions is clear on “Lookin’ for Love,” a song that has a swing feel with a classic structure.
