FAQ

What am I allowed to make an event submission for?

Any upcoming music release (single, EP, album) that will be publicly available for download, streaming, or sale physically.

Why was my event not approved?

If your event was not approved, it’s more than likely because of one of the following reasons:

  • The artist/music was not related to the Texas/Red Dirt Music Scene
  • There was not enough information provided in the event submission
  • There was inappropriate or unprofessional language in the event submission
  • The music was already released
  • The event was not about a new music release

I’ve already released the project, am I allowed to make an event submission?

Unfortunately no.  This calendar is only for upcoming releases that are not currently available to the public?

What information is allowed in the event description?

You can include pretty much any information related to the new release: project description, bio information on the artist, links to social media and music platforms, album release information.  You are not allowed to promote or sell anything other than the music release event.

Is there a limit to how many events I can create?

Yes, you’re allowed to make no more than one a month.  So even if you’re releasing a new single every week, you’re still only allowed to submit one event per month – although exceptions may be applicable.

What can I embed?

Pretty much anything that will give you an HTML embed code: Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, SoundCloud, Facebook etc…

Is there a way to make my music release stand out?

Yes.  We can make your music release event a “featured” event for $25 a week.  Your event will be highlighted and appear larger that the rest of the events.  Email us for more information: TexasMusicPickers@gmail.com.

How long will it take for an event to be approved?

2-3 business days

Can I edit my event after it is submitted?

Yes.  In fact, we encourage you to update it with any new relevant information.

What’s the best way to utilize this calendar?

  1. Get your event submitted as far out as possible
  2. Provide good information.  Include as much as relevant information as possible.
  3. Make the event all about the music.
  4. Make the cover art the featured image
  5. Update it.  If you release a new “grat track” or a lead single, or secure an album release party add it to your event description.
  6. Update it on release day.  We expect a lot of traffic on Fridays and check out the music that’s been released.  We encourage you to embed or provide links to the released album.
