Being away from home isn’t new to this East Texas native. An Iraq War Veteran; missing home is something Cody Wayne is very familiar with. When it was time for Cody to start traveling on the weekends in pursuit of his dream, his wife loaded up and hit the road with him. Little did Cody know that having his other half on the road would lead to a song, his current single “Footprints On My Windshield”.
After months of windexing his wife’s footprints off his windshield on Monday mornings after the long road trips to gigs on the weekend, missing those footprints was the last thing he expected when she didn’t load up and go with him one weekend. Missing her feet up on the dash in the middle of the night heading to the next gig, Cody found his inspiration.
Released exclusively to Texas Radio, Cody Wayne is ready to make his mark on a scene that has long provided a sense of home and comfort, when that was hard to find.
Jake Ward is an exciting 23 year old singer-songwriter from Corpus Christi.
He and his band stormed onto the Texas music scene in 2014 with their high-energy live shows and original songs. Jake made his debut at Larry Joe Taylor’s festival in 2014 playing his original song, “Hit the Road,” a song he cut as a demo that eventually became one of the top 100 songs of the year on the Texas regional radio chart. The band’s follow-up, “Ignorant Bliss,” did even better, landing in the top 20 and remaining on the charts for over six months.
A finalist for Best New Male Vocalist at the 2015 Texas Regional Radio awards, Jake and his band released their debut album, “Love Don t Live Here”, in 2015 with ten original songs. “Take My Hand” has the signature blend of Jake s soulful voice with alternating acoustic and R&B guitars, superlative fiddle, tight harmonies, exciting dynamics, and an unforgettable chorus.
Curse and the Cure is not your typical music act, acoustic or otherwise. They’re a little different. Curse and the Cure consists of Jason Touchette and Norma Hopson. With the two of them together, Jason and Norma achieve the most amazing harmonies and dynamic. Both of them have a really wild range, together and separately, and it’s almost like a roller-coaster of vocals. This is an intimate and relaxing yet heart-racing duo that showcases two vocals and the true heart and soul that Norma and Jason put into their music.
Jackson Tillman consists of Jeremy Studdard, Shawn Gomez, Jamie Chandler and Bryan Chandler. Jamie, Bryan and Shawn were in a regionally successful group called Redneck Brown & The Freshwater Donkeys. Having 3 songs that hit the Texas Music Charts in 2013 and one of their songs staying on the charts for 9 months. They enjoyed a run opening for the likes of Cody Johnson, Reckless Kelly, Wade Bowen, JB & The Moonshine Band, Kevin Fowler and many more.
Deciding to part ways with Redneck Brown, the guys met Jeremy Studdard. Jeremy was a successful solo act gaining tremendous notoriety in Oklahoma and Texas as a singer and songwriter. His soulful and country sound was the perfect blend with the guys of RBFWD and Jackson Tillman was born.
Matt and The Herdsmen originated in the small town of Edinburg, Texas in October of 2013. Lead singer Matt Castillo gathered a talented group of musicians in South Texas and began playing Texas country music together which within a year lead to live shows branching up to New Braunfels and Austin. M&TH began to book private and public events.
Together, the band has written original songs and notched an assortment of Texas country ballads under their belt. They hit the studio in August of 2014 to cut their first album titled Small Town Stories” and have released two singles thus far from that album. Come along for the ride!
Wes Barlow is a 23 year old singer-song writer out of College Station, Texas. Wes was originally a fiddle player out of Memphis, Tennessee but he spread his wings to guitar and writing songs when he got to college. “All Again” is currently his only recorded song, but you can also catch his fiddle on numerous artists records across the Texas Country scene.
