The Huser Brother Band is one to put and keep on your radar, folks. As told by the band, the line up includes: “Josh Huser, 21, on lead vocals and guitar, his brother Zach Huser, 19, on drums and background vocals, Mason Hays, 24, on lead guitar, and his brother Dalton Hays, 20, on bass.” These characters from Waco, Texas have a blend of blues, Texas country, and southern rock sound and are releasing their first full EP “Find My Way” on May 25th.
Mason told TMP that the two sets of brothers had a lot of fun putting the EP together and that the whole project was recorded at Rosewood Studio in Tyler, with the help of Drew Hall and Kerry West. “Each of these songs are based off of real-life experiences, whether it be a break up, meeting “that girl” at a dancehall, or some of the people we’ve met on the road in the last couple years.”
Along with its own story, each song on the 5 track EP brings a unique style and sound. Overall, the collection is a fun introduction to the band and will make you want to catch these guys live this summer!
The EP starts off with, “Highway”, a solid track that shows off the southern rock side of the band’s talent and is our *PICK* of the EP. We learned that the song is the band’s favorite as well. “It’s been cool for us to see people grab onto it live and start toe-tappin’ and head-bobbin’ when the guitar kicks in,” Mason shared. This “coming home” song is freeing and good for the soul. I kid you not, I was driving on Texas State Highway 71 coming back to Austin when I first gave this track a listen. By the repeat of the chorus, my volume was turned up, windows were rolled down, and my hair released from its ponytail.
“Dance Floor” is the first single released from the EP and already has almost 35k streams on Spotify! We’ve been jammin’ this one here at TMP and added it to our Spotify playlist. With sweet lyrics and a catchy groove, this one will make you grab the closest thing to a dance partner and spin around in your kitchen and will for sure pack the floor at the dancehall.
The album-titled track “Find My Way” slows things down in the best kind of way. This gospel-blues ballad makes the listener feel more and more with each line as heartfelt lyrics of heartache, love and spirituality unfold. Just when you thought the song couldn’t get any better (spoiler alert!), Josh takes the song to the next level with a solo sample of “Amazing Grace”. His vocal range showcased on this tune is fantastic and has you hanging on until the very last note.
The record continues with “Wrap Me Up”, a feel-good love song with harmonica instrumentals that are unique from the rest of the project. The EP concludes with “Wild Child”, a song Mason candidly shared is about a particular person and that “she knows who she is”! Both tunes will be crowd-pleasers and fun for fans to sing along to.
The band’s release party will take place at The Backyard in Waco on May 25th and they have more shows lined up later this summer with artists such as Jason Boland and The Stranglers and Koe Wetzel. More tour dates can be found here.
