Our Spotlight shines on Smoke Wagon this week! “Strong Man” took a 5 spot jump up to #66 on the Texas Regional Radio Report, adding 4 stations! Written by front-man Jay Brown, and Leon Waddy, the track was recorded at Studio M with Michael and Ron Morales.
“The song is about that point in a relationship when you realize it’s better to buck up and walk away, than to stay with someone who doesn’t want to be with you anymore. No matter how bad you want to stay in, you realize getting out is the only way to stay sane. That is a very hard thing to do. We know from experience”, the band told us.
We really dig the way the lyrics seem to roll right along the track, giving it a very memorable tempo and good energy. The musical build up throughout the verses, leads to a powerful a climatic break: “But I know, even if it doesn’t show…” then a crashing finish: “It takes a strong man to let you go!”– We love the passionate delivery!
“Strong Man” comes on the heels of previous single “Where Did I go Wrong” and is the lead single off of their upcoming EP; set to release this summer!
A new radio single, and upcoming EP; it’s safe to say that these guys have an exciting 2016 in the works! “We have been invited to play more great events than we can handle! We are really excited about how quickly our music is being accepted! We appreciate the support of old fans who have been on this ride since we started, as well as the new ones for jumping on “SMOKE WAGON”, the San Antonio 6-piece told us.
“We will be hitting the road soon to visit radio, as well as traveling up to DFW and down to Corpus Christi! We are working on a video for the single and can’t wait until we release our first EP later this summer! The songs have all turned out great and we are looking forward to the release parties” they went on to say.
Be on the lookout for the new tunes, but in the mean time we want you to help us push this one up the charts by requesting it on your online and local radio stations!
