Our spotlight shines on Jake Ward this week! “Ignorant Bliss” moved from #63 to #56 on the Texas Regional Radio Report, adding +42 spins. Written by Ward himself, the track was produced by Mason Shirley at Soundmachine Studios. Ward told us “I mostly wrote this song about my grandparents who have been married for over 60 years. I would always see pictures of them from when they were young, and it just made me want to write a song about the ‘good ole days’.”
This song stood out to us due to its upbeat tempo and the smooth overall sound. I love how flush Ward’s vocals are with the instruments and his ability to drive passion in to the key words with his inflection. The rhythm is great for radio, and this tune is sure to be well received in dance halls as well! Another single, another hit!
This is Ward’s second time to find his way in to one of single spotlights; he also caught our attention last year with his debut single “Hit the Road”, which went all the up to to #29. We’ve been anxiously awaiting more from him, so we were excited to see another release, and even more excited to see that he’ll be putting out his debut album, “Love Don’t Live Here” soon. Help us push this one up the charts by requesting it on your online and local radio stations — and keep an eye for this kid; his future is bright!
