Corey Hunt Band’s new EP “North of Low Water” is like coming up for a breath of fresh air after being under water for too long. It’s a vibrant, relieving and sentimental record released yesterday, Mar. 6th.
North of Low Water:
- Wild Heart Gypsy
- I Don’t Want You
- Crime of Love
- I’m Doing Fine
- Shelby Jean
- Uwharrie River
The first track on the EP is the upbeat love song “Wild Heart Gypsy,” with already over 40 thousand streams and spotlighted by TMP. Produced by Kyle Mann and mastered by Ruairi O’Flaherty, “North of Low Water” is an EP based on Hunt’s current home.
“This part of the area has a special place in my heart,” Hunt said. The EP includes “Uwharrie River,” a song about the glories of the Uwharrie reached by the “one lane bridge” from Hunt’s home.
Songs like “I Don’t Want You,” “Crime of Love,” and “I’m Doing Fine” find happier moments to breakups, heart ache and love. These emotion-driven tracks give a sense of growth and relief from grief, with a tinge of steel guitar and foot-tapping drums.
On a softer note, “Shelby Jean” is that slow and steady song we all crave. The calm rhythm and memories of loved ones passed keeps us firm to the ground with our hearts on our sleeves. It reminds us that “sometimes we need ya,” as in sometimes we need those moments that settle us down.
“North of Low Water” follows Hunt’s album “The Tower,” which reached top 70 on iTunes with three singles in the top 40 of the Texas Regional Radio and landed one inside the Top 25 of our TMP Spotify Chart.
With these stats in mind, the Corey Hunt Band “hopes to continue to grow and believes the new EP has what it takes to do that exponentially.” Let’s help make beliefs become reality by calling into your local/online radio stations and requesting songs off “North of Low Water.”
